vRanger Pro is the recognized industry-standard backup and restore solution for virtualized environments and continues to lead the way in establishing disaster recovery standards for VMware Infrastructure 3 users. Administrators can schedule regular backups of either the full image or just the differential, at appropriate intervals — while the virtual machine is still running. Images can be stored either locally in the SAN or sent as compressed files over a WAN to remote locations to support disaster recovery strategies. vRanger Pro also enables restore of individual files efficiently with an explorer tree through which users can easily identify and "grab" needed files

With vFoglight, administrators can visualize the entire infrastructure through detailed architectural representations and use out-of-the-box alerts and expert advice to diagnose the root-cause of problems affecting performance. vFoglight also provides out-of-the-box reports for capacity, performance, asset tracking, provisioning trends and infrastructure events to communicate current and available capacity to management stakeholders and identifying growth due to provisioning.

vReplicator

vReplicator is the real-time replication solution for the VMware ESX Server environment. Replication is performed outside the guest at the Service Console. The replication scheme is based on time elapsed and/or the size threshold for changes in the cache of the files being replicated (.VMDK and .VMX). With vReplicator, the entire virtual machine is replicated, including configuration settings, patches to the OS, the applications themselves as well as the data and all other OS-level changes. Replicating the entire virtual environment provides high availability for applications, as users can mirror sites through better utilization of existing server resources rather than overbuilding to meet SLA agreements. Being able to replicate an entire virtual machine in real-time allows the applications to have the data and all the underlying OS configurations in the event of a failure. Selectively replicating virtual machines from a LUN reduces the cost of replication and opens the door to replicating Tier 2 and Tier 3 applications as well.

vConverter

vConverter is an enterprise-class conversion solution that significantly reduces the time and effort spent converting servers to the VMware, Microsoft or Virtual Iron platforms. vConverter enables fast and easy conversions without disrupting the source physical system during the conversion process. There are never any reboots, no need to visit machines being converted, no software to install on the source and no downtime. vConverter contains advanced disk and network I/O algorithms to ensure that the fastest possible conversions are executed, and extremely reliable block level cloning is performed to minimize any risk of data loss.

vPackager

One of the major challenges in using VMs for development or testing is that in order to develop or test against common platforms, synchronizing changes is required. As virtual machines proliferate, the difficulty of maintaining synchronicity and distributing changes limits the productivity of a distributed workforce.

With vPackager, customers can configure a Windows based VM with the applications and configurations they wish to distribute, then extract these changes to a compressed package. This package can be distributed without OS licensing implications and applied to similar VMs to merge the changes.
