General Summary:

Lifeboat Distribution is currently seeking qualified candidates to fill a Field Territory Manager position dedicated to Micro Focus Business on its VAR Sales Team. As a Field Territory Manager for the Micro Focus Businees you will be both a supplier and VAR focused sales expert. This position is responsible for the recruitment of new resellers and revenue growth across all lines. Major focus is on the development of existing partners, recruitment of new partners, and execution of supplier initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Responsibility for driving strong alliances with partners and suppliers providing advocacy for Lifeboat and Lifeboat partners.
  • Building strong relationships between supplier, reseller and Lifeboat.
  • Creating strategic relationships with key supplier personnel.
  • Engaging business partner sales teams to assist in opportunity progression.
  • Establishing productive, professional relationships with key personnel within supplier sales organization.
  • Using relationships to advocate on behalf of Lifeboat for customers and vendors.
  • Responsibility for recruiting net new resellers.
  • Demonstrating a proactive approach and sense of urgency on the vendor's behalf, anticipate the vendor's requirements, and communicate our efforts timely and effectively.
  • Working across the organization with an extended internal team, including Inside Sales and Marketing.
  • Building and maintaining cohesive business relationships with all levels at the vendor and within Lifeboat.
  • Possessing ability to perform in a matrix structure, as well as influence individuals internally that do not have a direct reporting structure alignment.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • In depth knowledge of accounts or territory.
  • Understanding partner's credit situation at any given time.
  • Exhibiting a knowledge and individual ownership in accurate forecast to closure and upside within specific periods of time.
  • Ability to reconcile between vendor and field forecasts.
  • Ability to Travel at least 50%.
  • Ability to work across multiple teams and functions.
  • Ability to positively influence others, at all levels, in the organization.
  • Ability to work within timelines and in pressure situations.


  • Minimum 5 years of related experience (IT distribution, IT channel sales, account management).
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Business is preferred.
  • Proven experience growing existing relationships with channel partners, preferably in the IT distribution industry.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle several projects at one time.
  • Must possess technical aptitude and excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to influence people over whom you have no direct management.
